Reflection post
This term, the design of my project was more complex than in the previous two term, so I needed more time to complete my physical 3D model than I had planned. I also learned several new SketchUp plugins, which helped me build my digital 3D model more effectively.
This semester, I decided to draw my illustration on a large sheet of paper. I found this easier and more comfortable than working on a small sheet because I was able to add more detail.
I also liked the modular way of learning, because each module helped me focus on one specific task, such as researches or idea development. This made the process clearer and more organised for me.
Even though I started producing my outcomes earlier than last term and spent more time on them, I was still not able to complete the natural light diagram and the circulation/path diagram. These would have helped explain my concept better. I also feel that I could have developed my concept further, but I did not have enough time.
Because of this, I still want to improve how I manage my time in the future.
Overall, I gained a lot of useful experience this year. It was a very intensive year for me. Since the education system in the UK is very different from my home country, this year helped me adapt better.
I attended many workshops and learned how to write research, use references, and more skills. And although I still have areas to improve, I feel that I have made progress in my studies this year. By the end of the year, I found it easier for me to start tasks and I didn’t feel as confused as I did at the beginning.
During the holidays, I plan to improve my presentation and communication skills, and also learn new architectural software.
