Welcome to my blog!
Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!My name is Elena and I'm a student at the De Montfort University. In this blog, I am going to publish all my student works throughout the course on Digital Art. In the future I want to become an architect and I believe that the Digital Art course will help me develop and improve my creative thinking and creative skills, which in the future will help me in creating interesting architectural projects.I also would like to share a little information about me. Around school age, I realised that I wanted to connect my future profession with creativity. In high school, I became interested in architecture because I liked the combination of art and precise calculations in this field. Then I completed a three-year bachelor’s degree in architecture. For the first six months, I really enjoyed studying on campus, but during the next two and a half years of distance learning, I felt that I couldn’t gain enough practical skills. After moving to Britain for other reasons, I decided to continue my studies here. I chose Leicester and De Montfort University because it offers a foundation year programme for international students, where I can improve my English and portfolio. I’m excited to study here and gain international experience.I also would like to tell about one of the architects who inspires me. This is Vietnamese architect Vo Trong Nghia and philosophy of connecting people with nature. He often uses bamboo and other natural materials to create interesting projects. His words “We need green architecture for the future” really inspire me and I think he is right. I especially like his project such as Bamboo House and Wind and Water Cafe, where he combines modern design with nature and local traditions.

Elena, your welcome Post should include why you chose to study at De Montfort and come to Leicester, why you chose Architecture and what you would like to achieve as an architect and what you have done in the past - where you are from, where you studied etc - all of this information is in the first weeks presentations, so make sure you look back over the work you have missed. The blog is worth up to 40% of your mark on Digital Arts, so its important that you are clear on what you should be doing.
ReplyDeleteYou should also include a piece of work by a designer that has inspired you (preferably an architect).
