Site map
Final Outcome
Process
First, I found a map without any text on the Map Making website and took a screenshot with the location of my project.
Then I found a map of Leicester and drew its shape in Procreate.
Then I added a screenshot that I took on the website in Procreate and also took another screenshot on the same website on a different scale (closer to the design location).
Then I added a map of Leicester, that I drew earlier.
Then I used a yellow line to show the exact location for the project and show where it is located on the Leicester map.
After that, I measured the length of one of the walls of the project building (13 m) in a digital 3D model and used this size as a reference line. Then I opened the map in the Google Earth app and drew a 13 m long line with the "measure" tool and took a screenshot.
I also took a screenshot of the 3D model from the top view.
Then I added a screenshot of the map with the reference line on the site map, making one layer semi-transparent. After that, I added a screenshot with a 3D model with a top view so that the reference line and the wall line I measured earlier coincided and I also made one layer transparent. After that, I deleted the map with the reference line and drew the building lines on the site map based on the screenshot with the building. I did all this to get the drawings of the building on the site map in the right proportions.
After that, I made the tone of the ground more even in colour and drew green areas with trees, ways and parking.
