Website Creation: About Me - Research and Process

 1. Research

First website what I choose as an example is portfolio of Ken Yeang. His website looks simple and easy to find the information here. Design was made in green and white colours and was added patern with leaves. It shows his professional direction (ecological architecture).  On home page located information about architect what was written by a third person. That make his website more professional. I also see here a photo of architect. When you go to the website, first what you see, it is all professional information about the person.

Second example what I found it is website of Anna Heringer. First what I noticed was her interesting logo. It has quite big size on the head of the website and attract attention. Picture on the website is not Anna's portrait, it shows her working process. This website also has many pages, more than usually and it is easy to find all what you need.

I choose Glenn Murcutt's website as an example because I found his idea with photo quite interesting.  This is a photo from the angle of the journal with his portrait. Then it darkens and makes a focus on the white text. His website very simple and include only the main information.

 2. Process: About me

On this page I added information about me. First, I choose my photo and changed colour settings. I did it warmer to make it go with the main colour of the site. Then I changed the background colour: I clicked on the pipette and choose the same colour as in the background in my photo.

After that I added the text and choose white colour. I also changed the background colour here on the same as in my photo.

  1. I like to see how you are looking at the design cues from these examples and how you may create your own reflecting them. Keep us updated with views as you go.
What is missing here however are the references. This is very important;rtant for academic work.... Check with the guide sheet provided to you on referencing in your work.
